On January 31, 2008, after a four-day jury trial in federal court, we obtained a unanimous verdict in favor of a former employee (Derosher Price) of Federal Express Corporation who was retaliated against after he complained about race discrmination and filed a lawsuit against the company. The jury found in Mr. Price's favor on all three of his claims (two failure-to-promote claims and a termination claim) and awarded actual and punitive damages. A judgment was later entered that included an award of attorney's fees, interest and court costs, but significantly reduced the punitive damages award. The case is currently on appeal.
